I won’t take it any more, F.A.C.T!

After reading this on Aral’s blog my belief that I am not alone in my frustration with F.A.C.T. was confirmed.

Federation Against Copyright Theft

The Federation Against Copyright Theft thinks it’s ok to hijack your DVD player with an un-skipable, un-fast-fowardable, ad to remind you that it is wrong to steal things… although what about the theft of two minutes of my time on this Earth every-time I use my DVD player to watch a film?

Edit: Check out FACT Off! for more info on what we can do to take the power back!

This is the reason I started downloading stuff. I used to own Family guy on DVD but it too about 5 minuites to get from putting it in to selecting an episode and the same after each one.

Now I just choose the one I want and bam its up and playing!

That and the fact DVD’s are a pathetic medium, slow, easily damaged, bulky, and overpriced.

IMHO it’s even worse in the cinema. The big brother like warning that appears at the beginning of films telling you not to use a camcorder etc is very intimidating and really over the top.
